RuneSmith (Beta)
Welcome to RuneSmith, the Sons of Wayland inscription designer.
RuneSmith has been created to help you explore and design historically inspired runic inscriptions for rings and other engraved pieces. Enter your text, experiment with different rune forms and layouts, and generate a design that can be used as the starting point for a custom commission.
Whether you are creating a personal motto, commemorating an important date, marking a life event, or simply exploring the rich tradition of the Anglo-Saxon and Norse runic alphabets, RuneSmith provides a simple way to visualise your ideas.
Please note that RuneSmith is currently in Beta. Features, layouts, transliterations and design tools are still being developed and refined. You may occasionally encounter unexpected behaviour, and some aspects of the application are subject to change as improvements are made.
If you discover an issue or have suggestions for new features, feedback is always welcome. Your input will help shape future versions of RuneSmith.

RuneSmith is in Beta at the moment but you will shortly be able to create a high quality save file of your design and send it straight to Sons Of Wayland from the App itself !
The process
- You share your idea or intention
- We refine the design and choose appropriate runes
- The piece is engraved and finished
- The completed ring is delivered

Style/overall feel (subtle, bold, minimal, 7th Century, 9th Century)
Pricing Guidance
Custom pieces typically start from £55 depending on design and materials.
Stainless Steel/Tungsten Steel start at £55.00
Titanium Starts at £75.00 extras – Anodising single colour extra £10
The price includes one redesign beyond the first design, iterations beyond that are charged at £25 each.
Postage – for the UK £5.00 – Everywhere else I use Postage Duties paid – expect around £15.00

If you have a general idea, a feeling, or simply know what the piece should represent, that’s enough to begin. From there, the design is shaped through discussion — selecting runes, refining form, and ensuring the final piece carries clear meaning.
